After paying a deposit and agreeing a contract period, (usually 24 or 36 months), your monthly payments are lowered by deferring a proportion of the vehicle's cost to the end of the contract period.

At the end of the period and after making the "balloon" payment the vehicle becomes your property, however you can settle the agreement in full at any point during the term.
